Install in Under 2 Minutes
Chrome doesn't allow extensions from outside the Web Store to be installed by double-clicking — you need to load it manually using Developer Mode. Here's exactly how.
Download & Extract the ZIP File
Click the download button above to save Browser_History.zip to your computer. Right-click the ZIP file and select "Extract All" to unzip it. You'll get a folder — remember where you saved it.
Open Chrome Extensions Page
In Google Chrome, click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner, then go to Extensions → Manage Extensions. Or simply type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter.
Enable Developer Mode
In the top-right corner of the Extensions page, toggle on "Developer mode". This allows Chrome to load extensions from your local files.
Load the Extension
Click the "Load unpacked" button that appears after enabling Developer Mode. In the file picker, navigate to and select the extracted folder (not the ZIP file — the folder inside it). Click "Select Folder."
Pin the Extension & Set Your Password
The extension will appear in your Chrome toolbar. Click the puzzle piece icon and pin Browser History Tracker for easy access. Click the extension icon — you'll be prompted to enter the default password on first launch.

Change Your Password (Recommended)
Once logged in, go to Settings inside the dashboard and set a custom password to secure your history. You can always reset back to the master password if you ever forget yours.
Incognito tracking note: To track Incognito sessions, you must allow the extension in Incognito mode. After installation, go to chrome://extensions, click Details on Browser History Tracker, and turn on "Allow in Incognito."
